During this two-day snowmobile trek, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the thrill of snowmobiling, but alongside we'll also acquaint ourselves with the fell-dotted wilds of West Lapland as well as the history of reindeer management and it´s present day. We'll drive towards Muonio via Lake Äkäsjärvi. A hot drink and snack are waiting for us at the old Äkäs-Mill Cáfe, from which we'll continue across Lakes Äkäsjärvi and Jerisjärvi to Torassieppi for afternoon coffee. Accommodation is arranged at a forest camp within the vicinity of Pallas-Ounastunturi National Park. During the evening, we'll enjoy a sauna and winter swimming as well as tuck into a good square meal of roast reindeer.
After breakfast, we'll set out for a reindeer farm, whose hostess will escort us to the reindeer enclosure and museum. In addition, she'll tell us about reindeer husbandry in words and pictures with a slide programme. This visit is crowned by a 6-kilometre reindeer safari as well as some Lapp soup in a warm Lapp tepee. On the journey back home to Äkäslompolo, we'll have one more stop for coffee in the kota.
