Snowshoes are the perfect way of exploring the mighty Ylläs fells - in complete silence. The trek starts at Kellokas, now being developed into a guide centre for the national park, right up near the tree line. The snow packed down by the wind is easy to walk on, but forging a way through the deep fell gullies can be quite hard work.

The scenery and the wonders of the Varkaankuru gorge are, however, well worth the effort, whether the trek is made in dazzling sunshine or an arctic blizzard, by day or by night. The guide's familiarity with the terrain, its flora and fauna is the difference between an ordinary safari and a Snow Fun Safari.

Prices are valid 15.11.2008-30.4.2009. Children under 12 years will get 30 % discount. The starting point for excursions is the office of Snow Fun Safaris in Äkäslompolo, but when necessary customers can be picked up from any point in Äkäslompolo village for the same price. We reserve the right to change the itinerary of the excursions should the weather or safety of our customers so require. The excursions described here are only examples of the options we offer. All excursions can be adapted according to need. During the tours participants can select a meal from our menu.

The number of stars after the name of the tour indicates the level: one star means it is suitable for anyone, five that you need to be in fairly good physical condition in addition to having a rugged thirst for adventure.
